8-christophervumilia-smilingalexMAY 1, 2017 DEADLINE

At Mosaic International, we believe in providing opportunities to grow, learn and contribute. This doesn’t apply only to the individuals we serve, however. It also applies to those who work with us.

Each year, we fund international fellows through the Carman International Fellowship Program. We currently have a fellowship opening for the 2017-2018 fellowship year, starting in September 2017. It will be located in Moshi, Tanzania with our partner Building a Caring Community. The fellowship position is an integral part of our program’s success.

For better understanding of the fellowship experience and the role of the fellow, read blog posts by Meghan Hussey, Alex Bailey, Becca Berman, and Meritt Buyer. You can also read about us on Profellow.

Below is the information on the fellowship, the requirements and instructions on how to apply. Please share this link with any qualified candidates you know who would be interested in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Tanzania Program Overview

Building a Caring Community, a Mosaic-supported program in Moshi, Tanzania, works with 220 children and young adults with intellectual disabilities, a very under-served population in Sub-Saharan Africa. Children and young adults in the program receive supports in one of the 11 day centers in Moshi or through home visits by outreach workers from BCC.

The program also includes an economic development/poverty reduction component through social businesses and a micro-credit loan program, as well as a global health component through PROMOT Health, a preventative healthcare program for program participants. A new inclusive education program launched in 2015, in partnership with the Moshi Public School Authorities, as part of the BCC program.
