December 3 was the International Day for Individuals with Disabilities. It is a day to celebrate and honor all individuals with disabilities in the world. We attended the parade in Moshi for the International Day for Individuals with Disabilities. BCC participated in the event, and we were very inspired by the enthusiasm of everyone who participated in the event.
The International Day for Individuals with Disabilities celebration in Moshi was organized by BCC’s partner, CCBRT. BCC was among other proud participants who participated in events for the special day. After the parade, there was also a community gathering. Each organization that works for the rights of individuals with disabilities had a booth and members of the Moshi community could tour the booths and learn more about the organizations and the work they are doing.
It was great to see everyone working together to bring awareness to the Moshi community. We saw BCC staff and children participating in the parade that went through the entire town! It was very fun to watch the parade and to learn more about other organizations working with individuals who have disabilities in the Moshi community.
Below are pictures of the parade. The first picture shows the BCC program sign!
